It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 8/5/13

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme started by Book Journeys. The folks over at Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers have given it a children’s and YA spin. I thought it would be a fun way to recap last week’s reading and give a sneak peek of my TBR (to be read) pile.

Last Week in Books:

Last week was fantasy week!  I read Goblins by Philip Reeve, soon to be published in the U.S. You can read the review here.

I also read fantasy icon T.A. Barron’s newest book, Atlantis Rising. It is slated to be first in a series, and I have to review it for Library Media Connection so I have to wait to write about it here. But if you are for some weird reason on the fence about purchasing it for middle school or high school students, then hop off and go get it. It is gearing up to be an excellent series!

Last Week in Entertainment News:

The twelfth Doctor will be Peter Capaldi! (which you already know if you care about Doctor Who) But, still, great announcement, and I’m looking forward to see what kind of Doctor he is.

This Week’s Planned Books:

Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan, an e-galley from NetGalley.

William Shakespeare’s Star Wars  by Ian Doescher. I requested an ARC from the Random House website and got it before school let out in May. Indulging myself 🙂

TANDEM by Anna Jarzab

Tandem  by Anna Jarzab, reviewing for Library Media Connection–the last one to review in my latest batch from them. The back says: “Everything repeats. You. Your best friend. Every person you know. Many worlds. Many lives – infinite possibilities. Welcome to the multiverse.”  I say, “YES! See you there!”

So what are you reading and what should I read next???
